Student football skills day raises more than £200 for JCS and Calderwood Lodge Primary School!

Thursday 20 June

On Thursday 20 June Calderwood Lodge Primary School students, primary one through to six, got stuck into a football skills football-a-thon with team JCS to raise money for both Calderwood Lodge Primar School and Jewish Care Scotland.

The day kicked off to a busy start with the primary one group meeting JCS’s coach, Nicole Telfer, bright and early on the astroturf. Each group had 25 minutes to get through the football drills, coordination exercises and brush up on their teamwork before the next primary took their turn.

Some members of JCS’s Wellbeing Hub, who have worked previously with the Calderwood students for the Intergenerational Project, came along to support their young friends and community.

Jewish Care Scotland’s Registered Manager, Vicki McPhee: “The pupils were delighted to be involved in the football fundraiser! With the buzz of the Euros it was the perfect opportunity for JCS to connect with Calderwood Lodge Primary School, get active and raise money for the community.”

Although the final figure is unconfirmed, we can announce that we have officially raised over £200! Funds raised will go towards supporting the vital care and services each organisation offer the community.

This event could not have taken place without the support and dedication of the Calderwood Lodge and JCS team who organised it, a huge thank you to all involved!

Thank you to Maccabi Glasgow for lending us the sports equipment which made this day possible.
